The Little Things Justina Everett: Inspiring Connection and Community

Written by: Amanda Reynolds, Director of Administrative & IT Services and Courtney Coleman, Therapeutic Recreation Director

We are incredibly fortunate to have Justina Everett as part of our team at Essex Meadows. In her role, Justina consistently goes above and beyond, making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and strengthening the sense of community we are so proud of.

“She made everything happen during one of her regular IT sessions. She is extremely competent, answers all my questions, such an asset for those of use who are slightly terrified of technology.”
Barbara Barre, Resident

Working closely with our Health Center residents, Justina brought to life News from Bailey Meadows, a monthly, resident-written and designed publication. This newsletter began as a passion project requested by the residents themselves, and with Justina’s support, she has helped bring their vision to fruition. Through her encouragement, organization, and creative guidance, residents have found renewed pride, purpose, and connection. In just a short time, the newsletter has strengthened the Health Center community, sparked creativity, and generated overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents, staff, and families alike. It serves as a wonderful reflection of the vibrant life within our Health Center and offers reassurance and positivity to families considering our care.

“When a member of the Essex Meadows Staff excels beyond expectations or overdelivers on the job, their efforts deserve recognition.”
Skip Morse, Resident

In addition to her creative contributions, Justina is a trusted resource for residents seeking support with technology as our Essex Meadows Concierge; a position she began in 2020. From hosting her twice-weekly Internet Café to leading workshops on topics like Google Docs, internet safety, and smart speakers, she empowers residents to feel confident and connected in today’s digital world. She is always willing to take the time for one-on-one support, meeting each resident with patience, kindness, and genuine care.

Justina’s impact extends far beyond any one program or service. Whether assisting with daily needs, offering a listening ear, or simply brightening someone’s day, she exemplifies the spirit of compassion and dedication that defines Essex Meadows.
Thank you, Justina, for all the “little things” you do that make such a big difference. We are proud to recognize you with The Little Things Award!
