“Sweet 16 – And We’re Lucky to Have Her!” Featuring Michelle Davis
Michelle Davis, Director of Human Resources, has been working at Essex Meadows for the past 16 years. Her role includes managing benefits, payroll, recruiting, hiring, orientation, workers compensation, OSHA, assisting the Scholarship Committee, managing employee vaccinations and testing, organizing the holiday party, and all employee relations – just to name a few.
We are very fortunate to have Michelle in this important role, as she deals with each employee, and assists them with whatever it is they might be needing. It could be getting a new employee up and running, electing benefits, assisting an employee prepare for maternity leave, or helping an employee to navigate retirement. Whatever the task, Michelle goes above and beyond the call of duty. She is so accommodating, often coming in on evenings or weekends for special orientation sessions for staff who don’t work a normal 9-5.
“Everyone knows Michelle has an open-door policy. She constantly makes herself available to the staff. It is so reassuring to know that no matter what, Michelle is there to help and guide you” said Amanda Reynolds, Office/IT Manager.
Michelle is an active member of both the Employee Safety Committee and the Employee Wellness Committee. She organizes and oversees the annual wellness incentive program as well as safety incentives throughout the year. Whenever there is a need to get something done, Michelle is always the first one to raise her hand. She is the ultimate team player and will chip in to help regardless of which department needs the help. You can find Michelle helping at the carwash, setting up tables/chairs for the 4th of July picnic, stuffing employee gift bags, preparing take out lunches for special employee events, working the sign in table at marketing events, cleaning off employee cars after a snowstorm, and the list goes on and on.
When not at Essex Meadows, Michelle enjoys going for walks and spending time with her husband, Scott, and three grown children, Mackenzie, Ryan, and Nathan. The next year will be a busy one as they are preparing for Mackenzie’s wedding which will be held in 2023.
We are thankful to have Michelle as our Director of Human Resources. She goes above and beyond for our employees, and we can’t thank her enough!
